Ugly Doodles

This series of illustrations was initially created using watercolour and ink, they were later reproduced using a risograph printer. The artworks are a self initiated study into the ‘free-hand’ drawing technique, inspired by Egon Schiele’s work. Particularly, the painter’s employment of gestural strokes to distort portraits. My goal for this series was to conceptually challenge the traditional characteristics of portraiture.
