Duality of a Day is an exploration of the interpolation points between opposing principles of ‘day/night’, and ‘light/dark’, through the photographic documentation of an urban area for every hour of a duration of twelve hours. Mainly, this project visualises the juxtaposition of the light and dark within a building during the day - when it is light outside, it is dark inside, and vice versa.

This outcome consists of two physical objects made of thirteen acrylic layers: twelve interpolation points (or hours representing the time of day) and a layer with an engraving of two characters sitting on the edge of the building. The characters act as a symbolic element representing yin and yang (light and dark, white and black). This symbol further reinforces the commentary on people’s everchanging transition between dark and light during day and night, supporting the concept of a contrasting duality of the day.
